“MEFENAMIC ACID - 250 MG … PRESCRIPTION ONLY MEDICINES … For the relief of mild to moderate pain including muscular, traumatic and dental pain, headache, postoperative and postpartum pain, and dysmenorrhea … The recommended initial dose is 500mg followed by 250mg every 6 hours as required and usually not to exceed one week … contraindicated in patients with active ulceration or chronic inflammation of either the upper or lower gastrointestinal tract … should be avoided in patients with pre-existing renal disease … Safe use of this drug in pregnancy has not been established”

“indicated for the relief of moderate pain when therapy will not exceed one week … also indicated for the treatment of primary dysmenorrhoea … Adults and children over 14 years - Oral, 500mg initially, followed by 250mg every 6 hours as needed … It is recommended that mefenamic acid should not be used for more than 7 days at a time … Not recommended for children under 14 years of age, women during pregnancy and lactation”
