What the label says

The Singapore cordarone tablet 200 mg label [SIN09784P] reads 'treatment should be started with 200mg, three times a day and may be continued for 1 week. The dosage should then be reduced to 200mg, twice daily for a further week', and for maintenance 'the minimum effective dosage should be used according to individual response. It may range between 100mg daily to 400mg daily' — the largest amount the label states is 200 mg three times a day (600 mg) in the first week, and the label frames even that as temporary: 'it is particularly important that the minimum effective dose be used'; the SAMe label says 'the safety and efficacy of amiodarone in children has not been established' and that one 200 mg tablet contains about 75 mg iodine; as directed on the label or by your doctor or pharmacist
